CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. – October 2, 2021 – Hiram men's soccer dropped a North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) match at Wabash, 1-0, in double overtime on Saturday.
After 45 minutes of play Wabash had the shot advantage with ten to just one for Hiram.
Jack Meinert, making his first career start in goal, made five saves as both teams looked to find the back of the net.
The Little Giants again had the big shot advantage in the second half with 17. Despite the big shot advantage, both team still had a zero on the scoreboard after 90 minutes of play.
In the 108
th minute, Wabash captured the victory with Cristian Aleman finding the back of the net.
Jason Martinez was the lone shot taker for the Terriers picking up four with three on goal.
Meinert finished the match with ten saves playing all 108+ minutes in the match.
With the defeat, the team is now 2-6-2 on the year and 0-2 in conference play.
The team continues conference play with their next game on Saturday, Oct. 9 against DePauw at Charles A. Henry Field with a 4 p.m. kickoff.
