HIRAM, Ohio – October 16, 2021 – Hiram men's soccer dropped a North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) match, 3-1, vs. Oberlin on Saturday night.
11 minutes into the match Nic Jandeleit found the back of the net for Oberlin making it a 1-0 match early. With no other goals in the first half, the Yeomen held the one-goal advantage heading into the break.
At the half, Oberlin had 11 shots with Hiram having three.
Isaac Opoku evened the game at one scoring just over then minutes into the second half.
Joseph Suarez picked up an assist on the goal.
Jandeleit picked up his second goal of the night in the 71
st minute as Oberlin took the lead 2-1. Toby Wells-Zimmerman added an insurance goal in the 80
th minute for the road side as the Yeomen held on for the 3-1 victory.
Oberlin finished the night with 21 shots as Hiram had seven.
Shelby Edwards had 11 saves in goal for the Terriers as his counterpart, Parker Whitcomb, had four in goal for Oberlin.
Along with his goal, Opoku led the team with three shots.
Keagan Le'Roux,
Albert Gallegos and Suarez also had shots on goal for the match.
Hiram falls to 2-9-2 on the year with the defeat and 0-5 in conference play.
The team next hits the pitch on Tuesday, Oct. 19 at 7:30 facing Allegheny.
