STEUBENVILLE, Ohio. - November 9, 2019- The Hiram swimming & diving teams collected a victory in their meet against Franciscan and Wilmington, Saturday evening.
The Terriers fell to Wilmington 87-16 on the men's side, and 126-43 on the women's. While the women tallied their first victory of the season against the Lady Barons 96-87.
Senior Jenna Nelson led the way for Hiram capturing a win in the 200-yard breaststroke clocking in at 2:42.33. The captain went on to secure a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle (2:12.79), and the 400-yard IM (5:14.83).
Junior Angie Ross collected a trio of second-place times in the 100-yard backstroke (1:10.20), 200-yard backstroke (2:32.59), and the 100-yard butterfly (1:18.16).
Sophomore Carlee Lisser swam a third-place time in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:04.36. She also made two notable finishes in the 1650-yard freestyle and 50-yard freestyle coming in a third-place time of 20:46.56 and 29.83.
On the men's side, Devin Gear paced the men's team coming in second in the 200-yard backstroke in 2:35.35, and third in the 50-yard freestyle (26.43).
The Terriers will hit the road again on Saturday, Nov.16 when they take on Bethany. The meet with the Bison is set for 1:00 pm.
