November 3– WOOSTER, Ohio- The Terrier swimming & diving team competed in their first quad meet of the season at Wooster College, Saturday afternoon.
Hiram faced three teams including host Wooster, Notre Dame College, and Thomas More University.
On the women's side, the Terriers secured their lone victory of the night against Thomas More (105-89).
Jenna Nelson swam her best race in the 200-yard breaststroke finishing in the top half of the competition, clocking in at 2:46.79. The junior also tallied a fifth-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:18.93).
Freshman
Carlee Lisser took first in her heat in the 100-yard fly with a time of 1:16.09. Lisser also placed third in her heat for the 100-yard backstroke in 1:13.70.
Junior
Jill Schmidt swam a personal best in the 1,000-yard freestyle finishing in 15:15.63.
On the men's side, sophomore
Elijah Skaggs led the way for the Hiram pack with a second-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly (56.40).
Reeve Bowling finished fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:07.95.
Sophomore
Darien Street swam a season-best time in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:11.34.
The Terriers will hit the pool again on Friday, November 9, when they take on Bethany. The action is slated for a 6 p.m. start.
