Mauch scores lone Terrier goal in Women's Soccer tie with Case Western

HIRAM, Ohio -- Senior Katelyn Mauch (Parma, Ohio/ Normandy) scored at the 9:53 mark of the first half as the Hiram College Women's Soccer team battled to a 1-1 draw with Case Western on Sunday. 

Mauch controlled a loose ball and beat the keeper to the lower right backend of the net. This was her second goal of the season and 14th of her career.

Hiram (1-0-1) held a 1-0 lead going into the second half.

Case (1-0-1) battled back to tie the game in the 72nd minute when Kimberly Chen found the back of the net. 

Both teams battled through two overtime sessions. The Spartans held a 4-0 lead in shots in the overtimes.

Freshman Ally Green (Stow, Ohio/ Stow-Munroe Falls) made two saves in one half of action. Junior Alina Mille (Medina, Ohio/ Medina) made seven saves in the second half and overtime.

Hiram will return to action on Thursday, September 8 at 5 p.m. when they travel to Marietta College.
