HIRAM, Ohio -- Freshman Jasmine Kemp (Rootstown, Ohio/ Rootstown) scored the first goal of her collegiate career tonight as the Terriers shut out the Bethany Bison 3-0 on Tuesday night.
The Terriers are now 2-3-1 on the season, while the Bison fall to 2-4.
Senior Katelyn Mauch (Parma, Ohio/ Normandy) scored the first goal of the night in the 23rd minute. Senior Ashley Myer (Parma, Ohio/ Parma) picked up the assist.
About twenty minutes later, senior Allie Glatt (Cincinnati, Ohio/ Seton) found Kemp, who scored after beating a Bethany defender to a one-on-one battle against the goalkeeper.
Hiram held the 2-0 lead going into halftime.
Senior Emily Syrjala (Seattle, Wash. / Seattle Prep) found the back of the net in the 58th minute when she scored off a kick from Glatt, who recorded a second assist on the night.
In goal, freshman Ally Green (Stow, Ohio/ Stow-Munroe Falls) played all ninety minutes and finished with five saves.
Hiram owned a 21-9 edge in shots and a 3-0 advantage in corner kicks.
The Terriers will play next on Saturday, when they travel to Wooster for their NCAC conference opener at 1:00 p.m.
