KALAMAZOO (Mich.) -- The Hiram College volleyball team extend its win streak to five matches, sweeping past Finlandia (Mich.) and host Kalamazoo (Mich.) at the Kalamazoo Tournament on Saturday.
The Terriers (8-2) took part in three matches on the weekend and did not drop a set.
Hiram opened play on Saturday, rolling past Finlandia (3-1) 25-13, 25-13, 25-8.
In he contest, the Terriers recorded just three hitting errors to 39 kills, posting a blistering .462 hitting mark.
Senior Laura Kelly (Massillon, Ohio/Jackson) had a team-high 13 kills. Junior Jessica Fontana (Thompson, Ohio/Ledgemont) added seven kills and junior Grace Wilson (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Chagrin Falls) added six.
Senior Claire Maier (Huntsville, Ohio/Indian Lake) dished out 31 assists.
Defensively, senior Megan Schaefer (Elyria, Ohio/Elyria) paced the Terriers with 15 digs. Senior Marissa Jay (Parma, Ohio/Padua Franciscan) added 11 digs and Kelly finished with 10.
Against Kalamazoo (2-8), Hiram won 25-13, 25-13, 25-17.
Jay paced the Terriers with 18 kills, with Kelly adding eight and Fontana finishing with six.
Maier would add 34 assists, while led the team with 17 digs. Kelly would add 14 digs and Jay finished with 13.
Hiram will be back at it on Tuesday, September 20, as they host crosstown rival John Carroll at 7 p.m.
