HIRAM, Ohio -- Sophomore Alina Mille (Medina, Ohio) recorded her first career shutout in goal to lead the Hiram College women's soccer team to a 4-0 victory over Marietta on Wednesday night.

The Terriers are now 2-2-0 on the season, while the Pioneers fall to 0-4-0.

Mille made five saves on the night for her first career win.

Hiram wasted no time getting on the board, scoring just 9:08 into the contest. Junior Alison Cowell (Bridgeton, Mo.) sent a cross into the box that the Marietta defense was unable to clear. Junior Abbey Rowe (Mt. Orab, Ohio/Lynchburg) controlled the loose ball and drilled shot into the top right corner of the net to give the Terriers the early 1-0 lead.

In the final minutes of the first half, the Pioneer defense was unable to clear a ball again. Junior Ashley Myer (Parma, Ohio) was able to get the ball and fired a shot into the lower right of the net to give Hiram a 2-0 edge heading into halftime.

In the second half, junior Allie Glatt (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) was able to control a ball and fired a shot past the keeper and into the lower right of the net, making the score 3-0 in favor of Hiram.

Glatt would close out the scoring on the night with her team leading fifth goal at the 87:22 mark. Sophomore Emily Fenn (Macedonia, Ohio/Nordonia) sent a corner kick into the box that Glatt blasted into the net.

The Terriers owned a 25-9 advantage in shots and a 9-1 edge in corner kicks.

Hiram will be back at it on Saturday, when they hit the road for a contest against Mount Union at 1 p.m.
