Women's Soccer falls to Heidelberg, 1-0

TIFFIN, Ohio -- The Hiram College women's soccer team fell in a non-conference contest at Heidelberg by a 1-0 score on Wednesday afternoon.

The Terriers are now 2-5-0 on the season, while the Student Princes improve to 2-3-0.

Heidelberg's Talia Tobin scored the lone goal of the contest, finding the back of the net in the 23rd minute.

Senior Caitlin Elkins (Akron, Ohio/Green), junior Alison Cowell (Bridgeton, Mo./Duchanse), junior Allie Glatt (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton), junior Emily Syrjala (Seattle, Wash./Seattle Prep) and junior Kaitlin Zemanski (Munroe Falls, Ohio/Stow-Munroe Falls) all took two shots to pace Hiram.

Senior Kailie Reed (Wadsworth, Ohio) made one stop in the first half and sophomore Alina Mille (Medina, Ohio) recorded seven saves in the second half.

The Student Princes outshot the Terriers 16-13. Both teams took five corner kicks in the game.

Hiram will be back at it on Monday, with a non-conference road contest at Bethany (W. Va.) that is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
