ALLIANCE, Ohio -- Junior Allie Glatt (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) scored two goals, but the Hiram College women's soccer team fell 5-4 in an overtime thriller at Mount Union on Saturday.

The Terriers are now 2-3-0 on the year, while the Purple Raiders improve to 2-3-0.

Glatt's two scores now give her a team leading seven goals on the season.

Hiram struck first in the 29th minute, when Glatt converted a penalty kick. Her goal was the lone goal in the first half.

In the second half, the Purple Raiders would tie the game at the 48:23 mark, but the Terriers came right back six minutes later when sophomore Rebecca Fischer (Mansfield, Ohio/Mansfield Senior) found the back of the net for her first career goal.

Mount Union would knot the game up at 2-2 at the 64:27 mark. But less than a minute later, Glatt took a pass from junior Katelyn Mauch (Parma, Ohio/Normady) and beat the keeper to put the Terriers back on top.

Yet again the Purple Raiders were able to respond, this time in the 84th minute when Katie Goedecke scored her second goal of the contest.

Hiram responded immediately when junior Alison Cowell (Duchanse, Mo.) scored off a corner kick that was sent in by sophomore Kaitlin Zemanski (Munroe-Falls, Ohio/Stow-Munroe Falls) at the 87:33 mark.

The Purple Raiders were able to convert on a free kick in the 88th minute to force overtime. Mount Union would then score just over a minute into the extra session for the 5-4 win.

The Terriers outshot Mount Union 18-13 and also held a 7-4 advantage in corner kicks.

Hiram will have a quick turnaround and will host crosstown rival John Carroll on Monday evening at 7:30 p.m.
