HIRAM, Ohio -- The Hiram College women's swimming & diving teams split a tri-meet against a pair of Division II foes on Friday night.
The Terriers (1-3) defeated Ursuline (1-2-1) 96-75, but fell to Malone (3-0) 124-51.
Sophomore Jenni Heid (Stow, Ohio/Stow-Munroe Falls) led Hiram with a first place finish in the 50-meter freestyle in 30.50. She also was third in the 100-meter freestyle, touching in 1:09.00.
Senior Marian Bade (Macungie, Pa./The Perkiomen School) recorded a pair of second place finishes, touching in 5:20.00 and 10:57.97 in the 400-meter freestyle and 800-meter freestyle, respectively.
Junior Emily Kelly (North Royalton, Ohio/North Royalton) recorded a second place finish in the 200-meter freestyle in 2:33.63 and senior Rachel Patten (Castalia, Ohio/Margaretta) was secodn in the 200-meter backstroke in 2:45.88. Patten also was third in the 200-meter butterfly in 2:59.34.
Junior Meredith Fitschen-Brown (East Lansing, Mich./East Lansing) finished second in the 200-meter breaststroke with a time of 3:13.36 and touched third in the 200-meter I.M. in 2:52.13.
The Terriers will be back in the water on Saturday, host both Baldwin Wallace and Wooster at 1 p.m.
