PITTSBURGH, Pa. -- Four different players scored a goal as the Hiram College women's soccer team topped NAIA foe Carlow (Pa.) on Wednesday evening by a 4-0 score.
The Terriers are now 4-8-0 on the season, while the Celtics fall to 5-5-0.
Junior Allie Glatt (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) opened the scoring for the Terriers, taking a pass from junior Abbey Rowe (Mt. Orab, Ohio/Lynchburg) and beating the keeper 15:08 into the contest. The goal was Glatt's team and conference leading 10th of the season.
Less than two minutes later, junior Alison Cowell (Bridgeton, Mo./Duchanse) scored her third goal of the season with Glatt picking up the assist on the play.
Hiram held the 2-0 lead into the break.
In the second half, junior Katelyn Mauch (Parma, Ohio/Normady) scored her sixth goal of the season in the 51st mnute. Cowell recorded the assist on the play.
Junior Samantha Fox (Lyndhurst, Ohio/Brush) closed out the scoring, taking a pass from Glatt and finding the back of the net at the 61:53 mark.
Senior Kailie Reed (Wadsworth, Ohio) and sophomore Alina Mille (Medina, Ohio) combined for the shutout in goal, with each making two saves.
Hiram owned a 15-7 edge in shots and had a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks.
The Terriers will play next on Saturday, when they travel to DePauw (Ind.) for a NCAC showdown at 2:30 p.m.
