Women's Soccer drops road contest at No. 8 Denison

GRANVILLE, Ohio -- The Hiram College women's soccer team fell at No. 8 Denison by a 6-2 score on a soggy Saturday afternoon.

The Terriers fall to 3-8-0 on the season and 0-2-0 in the NCAC, while the Big Red remain perfect at 10-0-0, 2-0-0.

Junior Allie Glatt (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) and junior Kaitlin Zemanski (Munroe Fall, Ohio/Stow-Munroe Falls) each scored for Hiram.

After Denison scored eight minutes in, Zemanski tied the game at the 13:08 mark with her first goal of the season. Junior Katelyn Mauch (Parma, Ohio/Normady) recorded the assist on the play.

The Big Red would counter with three more goals in the first half to build a 4-1 halftime lead.

Denison added two more goals in the second half, just 1:30 apart to open up a 6-1 lead.

Glatt capped off the scoring on the afternoon, firing a shot over the keeper and into the net in the 77th minute. The goal was her team leading ninth of the season.

Senior Kailie Reed (Wadsworth, Ohio) and sophomore Alina Mille (Medina, Ohio) each made four saves in on half of action.

The Big Red held a 27-7 advantage in shots and a 5-1 edge in corner kicks.

Hiram will return to action on Wednesday with a non-conference tilt at Carlow (Pa.) at 7:30 p.m.
