OBERLIN, OHIO -- The Hiram College women's soccer suffered a tough 2-1 loss in double overtime to Oberlin on Friday evening.
The Terriers see their record drop to 5-7-1 overall and 0-2-1 in NCAC play. The Yeowomen pick up their ninth straight win and move to 9-3-0 on the season and 2-0-0 in the NCAC.
Senior Kelsey Martin (Austintown/Fitch) got the Terriers on the board first in the 43rd minute, scoring an unassisted goal. It was her third goal of the season.
Oberlin was able to tie the game at the 81:58 mark, when Gwennie Gardiner scored her seventh goal of the season.
The score would remain tied at 1-1 through the end of regulation and the first overtime.
In the second overtime period, Tyler Sloan found the back of the net to give Oberlin the 2-1 win.
Junior goalkeeper Kailie Reed (Wadsworth) made nine saves, including three in overtime, and drops to 5-7-1 on the season.
The Yeowomen held a 15-11 edge in shots, including a 4-0 advantage in overtime.
Hiram will continue its three game NCAC road swing, with a 4:00 p.m. match at Wooster on Tuesday.
