Schaub

Shannon Schaub

Schaub enters her second season as head coach of the Hiram softball program in 2025, having joined the Terriers from Wittenberg University, where she served as the head softball coach for five seasons.

In her first year with the Terriers, Schaub led the program to its third straight 25-win season, which extends a program record. Hiram led the NCAC in fielding percentage (.966) and pitching strikeouts (227), while ranking third in batting average (.319) and second in doubles (66). Fayth Kawamura and Darian Kanno both earned All-Region honors under the leadership of Schaub, while four student-athletes earned All-NCAC selections, three of whom earned First Team honors (Kawamura, Kanno and Abriana Schwartz).

Since starting at Wittenberg in 2019, Schaub coached nine different student-athletes to All-NCAC honors. The team notably went 22-12-1 in 2021 and posted its most conference wins in a season (7) in five years in 2023 under the leadership of Schaub. Schaub's 64 career wins with the Tigers are the fifth-most by a head coach in Wittenberg softball history.

Prior to Wittenberg, Schaub spent eight seasons as an assistant coach at Division II Ashland University. The Tigers made six NCAA Tournament appearances and never had a losing season with Schaub on their staff.

Schaub played pitcher and first base for Ashland from 2005-09. In 2009, she earned First Team All-Region and First Team All-GLIAC honors after she led her team in batting average (.357), slugging percentage (.629), home runs (11) and RBI (31). Those 11 home runs are tied for the fourth-most in a season in Ashland softball history.

Schaub and her husband, Cassidy, have three boys: Colton, Finn and Bo.
