Brian Jenkins enters his 11th season as head coach of the Hiram men’s lacrosse program in 2022. Jenkins was named the first-ever Hiram College head men's lacrosse coach in 2011.
In 2019, Jenkins guided the Terriers to six victories, while seeing four single-game team records set in goals (21), shots (65), ground balls (65), and goals allowed (3) against Franciscan University. He also coached senior Justin Dionne to a record-setting year in single-season assists (26) and an All-NCAC honorable mention.
Jenkins joined Hiram from Shenandoah University in Winchester, Va., where he served as a head lacrosse coach for 14 seasons. Jenkins led the Hornets to their most successful season in program history in 2007 as well as the biggest single-season turnaround in NCAA Lacrosse history.
In the summer of 2001, Jenkins played for Team USA at the World Championships (Master’s Division) in Perth, Australia. Team USA finished second as Jenkins had five goals, including two in the semifinals
Prior to his tenure at Shenandoah, Jenkins served as an assistant coach and defensive coordinator at NCAA Division I Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa. from 1994-98. During his time with the Hawks, Jenkins twice coached defenses ranked among the Top 3 in NCAA, as well as two Patriot League Defensive Players of the Year. During his final season at Lehigh, Jenkins presided over a defense that elevated the Hawks to a top-25 ranking and an upset victory over No. 7 Georgetown.
Previously, Jenkins also coached at Lafayette College in Easton, Pa. for four years, serving as the offensive coordinator, coaching the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year during the 1991 season.
A graduate of SUNY Cortland, Jenkins began his playing career at SUNY Cobleskill, earning Honorable Mention All-America honors in 1984 while helping the Fighting Tigers to the NJCAA Tournament, as well as All-Region in 1984 and 1985. Jenkins then played his final two seasons at Cortland, helping the Red Dragons capture the 1986 and 1987 SUNYAC Championship while earning Second-Team All-SUNYAC honors.
Jenkins earned his bachelor's degree in physical education from SUNY Cortland in 1988.
