Jeffrey Curto took the reins of the new Hiram College Men's Ice Hockey team for their inaugural season in 2025-26, and now is set to build upon that successful start in the program's second season in 2026-27. The Terriers are currently the only Division III men's ice hockey team in the state of Ohio and play all their home games at The Pond in Chagrin Falls, OH.
Curto spearheaded a roster of 34 players in his first season, a group that included four different players with at least four goals: Anthony Arthurs (5), Tyler Arthurs (5), Markus Olson (5) and Keith Smilowitz (4). The team was also led by its first-ever captain, senior standout Shane Ward, who was an integral part of the team's success both on and off the ice. Hiram played 27 games over the course of the season, which included five games against ACHA competition.
Prior to coaching at Hiram, Curto was the associate head coach of the Eastern Kentucky University Division III ACHA hockey team in Richmond, Kentucky in 2016. While at EKU, the Colonels won their first ever Bourbon Barrel Trophy, which was played annually against the University of Kentucky. The Colonels also played in the Indiana Collegiate Hockey Conference Championship game against Indiana University.
Curto started his coaching career in 2014 with the Livonia Hockey Association, where he coached the U16 Livonia Rangers as the associate head coach. He went on to coach the U16 Livonia Flyers and Livonia Knights U16 AA teams as an assistant coach overseeing the forwards and special teams. In 2014, he was named the head coach of the Crestwood High School Unified Hockey Team in Dearborn Heights, Michigan.
Curto also holds a Level 4 USA Hockey Coaching Certification through USA Hockey, Inc.
