The Terriers kicked the season off at home with a solid win against Oberlin College in a non-conference match. The Terriers beat the Yeowomen in three sets on Tuesday at Price Gymnasium: 25-16, 25-17, 25-20.

The first set started off close, with the two teams fighting back and forth, but the Terriers took command late and won the set 25-16.The second set was dominant for the Terriers, jumping out to a 16-9 lead. The Yeowoman made a late push to try and steal the set, but Hiram fclosed them off with a 25-17 win. The final set was a lot more close, being knotted up throughout the first half of the set. The Terriers jumped out to a 16-13 lead towards the end which forced an Oberlin time out,. The Terriers never looksed back after that moment,  containing the lead and finishing off the game on a 6-1 run to seal their first win. 

Sofia Smotek led the charge with 13 kills, as the sophomore looks to build off of the success of last season.Not far behind was Maggie Riley, who finished the day with 8 kills while also having a .429 hitting percentage. Starting libero Tori Burdette lead the team with 12 digs, capping off an impressive season opener. Hiram also recorded 8 aces, including 3 by Megan Chiang to show an impressive serving night. 

The Terriers return to action at the Great Lakes Crossover at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. The woman have a four game weekend, including games agaienst Heidelberg, Hanover, Adrian, and Kalamazoo.
