HIRAM, Ohio - July 17, 2026 - A new hire was announced to lead the next generation of Terriers golf earlier this week, as Hiram Athletics made it official and promoted Brennan Cain as the head coach of both the men's and women's programs. Cain served as an assistant coach with the teams over the last two seasons, and also logged two years of playing experience in the blue and red.

"Brennan is a great fit to lead both of our golf programs in 2026-27 and beyond," Pohlman said. "We look forward to watching the programs grow – both athletically and academically – under his leadership."

Cain helped the entire Terriers roster develop alongside former head coach James Workman, recently working with nine golfers who represented all four academic classes. He notably lifted Ian Muka to an All-PAC Honorable Mention selection, as well as strong team performances at the Mount Union Fall Invitational in September 2025 and Denison Spring Shootout in April 2026.

"I'm honored to be granted the opportunity to take over as head coach for the men's and women's golf programs," Cain said. "I have spent the last four years with this program and have watched it grow to the program it is now. I'm excited to take part in growing this program even further and taking it to the next level."

As a student-athlete himself, Cain represented himself well as one of the team's four golfers at the 2023 NCAC Championships. He has frequently practiced and competed at The Tanglewood Club in Chagrin Falls, OH and Sugar Bush Golf Club in Garrettsville, OH.

Hiram golf will open the fall season in August, when the teams arrive on campus and prep for a rigorous schedule throughout the 2026-27 academic calendar.
