HIRAM, Ohio - April 2, 2026 - The Hiram Terriers defeated the Geneva Golden Tornadoes in Price Gymnasium by a score of three sets to none. The Terriers won convincingly, extending their difference in sets each time, winning by scores of 26-24, 25-21 and 25-16.
With the victory, Hiram is now a win away from hosting a match in the PAC Quarterfinal round -- the team has already clinched a PAC Tournament berth for the second straight season.
The Terriers started out struggling in set one, but the score was still back-and-forth the whole time. The Terriers in the end came out of a timeout tied at 24-24, and won two straight points to seal the set one win.Â
Set two looked a lot different, with the Terriers hopping out to a 10-3 lead. The Golden Tornadoes roared back, though, cutting the lead to 12-10 and eventually tying the set at 15-15. The Terriers pulled ahead again though, making the score 21-16 and never looked back to gain a two-set advantage.
The third set was very lopsided, with the Terriers jumping out to an early lead and holding their ground through match point. As Geneva made more errors, the Terriers looked more solid, and eventually won, 25-16.Â
Cullen Sivak continued his incredible run, recording 12 kills on a .375 hitting percentage. Sivak has been on a tear and looks to continue that form heading into the postseason.Â
Colin Brooks and Derek Chiang also had very efficient nights, recording eight kills each and hitting over .350.Â
The Terriers return to action on Saturday, as they play Grove City in both teams' last regular season game. The winner of this game will get to host a playoff game in the quarterfinals; regardless of the result of the game, Hiram will be playing the Wolverines in the playoffs for the second straight year.
