Hiram Scores Season-High In Goals Against High-Powered Trine

Terriers Drop Final Game Before Spring Break

HIRAM, Ohio - March 7, 2026 - Hiram scored a season-high in goals and had a number of plays for the highlight reel in a 22-3 loss to Trine, who improved to 3-0 on a rainy afternoon at Henry Field.

The Terriers got goals from Lainey West, Janelle Steiner and Riley France, with all three goals having significant importance toward the team's early-season development. Hiram had season-highs in shots (nine) and shots on goal (five), while also battling some tough conditions against a team that is surely on its way to a winning record this season.

West's goal came in the first quarter, making her the first student-athlete on the team to crack the scoring column twice this season. The score came shortly after a draw control by Megan Dayton, setting up the Terriers offense in an advantageous position.

Both Steiner and France scored their first goals of their respective collegiate careers to round out the production. Steiner scored right before time expired in the first half, while France tallied the team's first "man-up goal" of the campaign.

Hiram will take spring break off before returning to non-conference competition on Wednesday, March 18 against Hilbert at 4 p.m. from Henry Field in Hiram, OH.
