HIRAM, Ohio – March 4, 2026 – Hiram opened up their home schedule with a 17-1 loss to La Roche on Wednesday evening at Henry Field. It marked the first home women's lacrosse contest at Hiram College since 2020.
The Redhawks opened the scoring midway through the first quarter and built a 2–0 lead before
Megan Dayton responded for the Terriers with an unassisted goal at the 3:57 mark to cut the deficit to 2–1. Dayton's tally marked Hiram's lone goal of the contest.
Despite the result,
Emma Fox recorded 11 total saves in the net for the Terriers while facing 40 total shots throughout the evening's contest. Fox made several key stops throughout the game to limit additional scoring opportunities.
Janelle Steiner led Hiram with three ground balls and four draw controls, while various Terriers tallied cause turnovers throughout the four periods.
Offensively, Dayton accounted for one of Hiram's three shots in the game, while Steiner added two attempts, including a free position shot in the first quarter.
Hiram will look to bounce back as the Terriers continue their early-season schedule with a match against Trine on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. at home.
