Hiram Falls in Hard Fought Road Doubleheader Against Titans

Low-Scoring Doubleheader Falls In Favor Of Westminster

NEW WILMINGTON, Pennsylvania – March 29, 2026 - Hiram softball gave the No. 1 team in the PAC everything it could handle on Sunday afternoon, as the Terriers narrowly lost both games of a doubleheader to Westminster, 3-1 and 3-0, in New Wilmington, Pensylvania.

Game 1 Recap

Hiram found a spark late in Game 1, as Daynna Mekaru lifted an RBI single to center field for the Terriers lone run of the afternoon. Scoring was Lola Thomas, who reached base on a bunt single. Thomas stayed consistent for the Terriers, as she extended her hit streak to seven. Her 16 hits on the season are tied for a team-high.

Yasmine Clark pitched all six innings for the Terriers. After allowing four hits and two runs in the first inning, Clark settled in and gave up just one run the last five innings.

Game 2 Recap

Hiram's hitting kept them in Game 2, as it had nine hits compared to Westminster's three hits. The difference in the game was Westminster scoring two of its three runs from Hiram fielding errors.

Ari Torres, Danielle Robles and Kayla Prigge had productive games as each student-athlete recorded two hits. Hiram had a late-game rally in the seventh inning, as Torres and Robles singled to load the bases with one out. Westminster forced back-to-back infield pop-ups to end the game.

Avery Contini threw the complete game in the circle for Hiram. Contini battled the whole game, allowing just three hits on 77 pitches thrown.

What's Next?

Hiram returns home to take on the Franciscan University Barons on Tuesday afternoon, 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., at Myrtis E. Herndon Field.
