LATROBE, Pennsylvania – February 14, 2026 – The Hiram women's basketball team traveled to St. Vincent College for a Saturday afternoon matchup. The Terriers fought hard but eventually fell to the host team, 74-58.
Despite the loss, the Terriers are still alive in the PAC Tournament, with a crucial game coming up in their schedule. The Terriers will play host to Geneva College next Wednesday, where a victory would see the Terriers taking fourth place in the PAC North, which is the last spot in the Tournament. Geneva College currently holds the last spot for the PAC North Tournament bid, with a one game lead over Hiram currently. But, with Hiram's first matchup of the season against Geneva ending in a win, they currently hold the tiebreaker over the Golden Tornadoes. So, the task of making the PAC Tournament is still in reach, with Hiram needing a victory on Wednesday to be closer to another playoff berth.
As for the game, the Terriers fought hard on the defensive end, making the Bearcats earn every bucket. Hiram attempted to make a comeback in the second half, scoring 37 points in total for the half. But it was the play of the Bearcats in the second half that ended any comeback attempts by the Terriers.
Leading the charge for Hiram was Sarah Seaman, who finished with 19 points on 6-16 shooting from the field. This is Seaman's 15th game this season scoring 15+ points, as the senior continues to be a scoring threat. Also dropping 15 points was Maya Joiner, who also grabbed 10 rebounds, marking Joiner's third double-double in the last four games. Also dropping 10 or more points was Isabella Caceres, who finished with 13 points and four steals.
Hiram will be back in action on Wednesday, when it hopes to keep its PAC Tournament chances alive; the team will host the Golden Tornadoes of Geneva College, with tip off set for 5:30 PM inside Price Gymnasium in Hiram, OH.
