HIRAM, Ohio – October 3, 2026 – Hiram College women's volleyball maintained its perfect start to PAC play with a four-set win against Bethany College: 25-17, 16-25, 25-18, 25-16 inside of Price Gymnasium.
The Terriers opened the gates hot in the opening set, posting a .325 attacking percentage with just two errors. Sofia Smotek led the surge as she posted seven of her game-high 14 kills to help take a one-set lead.
The Bison responded in the second set as a 7-0 run helped them take a 15-9 lead. Bethany tallied a game-high 13 kills to even the match.
Hiram found its form in sets three and four as they won both of them comfortably. Megan Chiang, who led the Terriers on the day with 16 kills, tallied 11 of those in the last two sets.
With Hiram holding a 14-9 lead in the fourth set, Chiang and Smotek stopped any sign of a Bison comeback as they rattled off eight kills combined to take a 20-14 lead. Fittingly, Smotek ended the set and game with a kill.Â
The duo of Courtney Johnson and Mia Nelson controlled the Terrier offense, posting 22 and 17 assists, respectively. Jacey English and Chiang each tallied 17 digs, while Maggie Riley and Chiang each added two service aces.
Hiram will travel to Thiel College this Wednesday for a showdown with the Tomcats. Game time is set for 7 p.m. inside of Beeghly Gymnasium.Â
