HIRAM, Ohio - January 7, 2026 - The contributions were widespread for the Terriers women's basketball team on Wednesday evening, as five student-athletes scored in double-figures as part of an 85-74 victory over Geneva inside Metheny Fieldhouse.
The victory gives Hiram a 2-1 record in conference play, trailing only Grove City (3-0) and Allegheny (3-0) for the best mark in the PAC North Division. The Terriers also beat Thiel in a road conference win earlier in the season on Dec. 3.
Sarah Seaman continued her scoring terror to lead the road team, recording a team-high 19 points on 9-of-18 shooting from the field. The senior guard has 88 points over her last four games (22 PPG), which is her most points in any four-game span of her career.
Forwards Maya Joiner and Star Owens were two of the X-factors in the contest, with both players scoring 17 points and combining for 30 rebounds. Owens' 16 rebounds in the contest marked a new career-high; the junior's previous best for a single game was six rebounds (twice in 2023-24).
Advika Srinivasan and Isabella Caceres had 16 and 10 points respectively to round out an evening that saw the Terriers shoot their best FG pct (45.3%) in a road game this season.
Hiram trailed by 11 points, 39-28, before going on a 9-0 run in the second quarter to make it a one-possession game. At the intermission, the Terriers faced only a 2-point deficit (45-43).
The momentum continued in the third and fourth quarters, with Hiram outscoring its opposition by 4 (20-16) and 9 (22-13) points in each period respectively. In addition to Seaman's scoring, the second-chance points from Joiner and Owens proved to be critical, too.
For the game, Hiram won the second-chance points battle, 16-4, and finished with its second-most rebounds in a game this season (47, trailing the 51 rebounds it had at Thiel). The Terriers led for the final 13:10 of game time, which was highlighted by a 12-0 run to start the fourth quarter.
The Terriers will look to add to the PAC success on Saturday, when they host Bethany at 1 p.m. inside Price Gymnasium.
