HIRAM, Ohio- January 28, 2026- The Hiram College men's basketball team dropped a PAC matchup with the Grove City Wolverines, 80-68, inside of Grove City College Arena on Wednesday night.
It was a game that saw the Terriers start on fire, opening on a 12-2 run in the first six minutes. The scoring outburst to open the game started with an electric alley-oop from Collin Jones to Drovinsky Ulysse. It was then capped off with a Ulysse jumper. Despite the Terriers only scoring 18 points after their hot run to start the game, they entered the break with a 30-25 lead.
The story of the first half was defense, as both teams scored a combined 55 points. Grove City flipped that narrative as they scored 55 points as a team in the second half, winning the last 20 minutes, 55-38.
Brock Makrancy provided a spark late in the game, as he scored 10 of his 13 points in the last 7:16 of the game. Joining him in double-figures was Ulysse (11), DJ Niles (12), and Collin Jones (12). Ultimately, the Wolverines' 55-point second half proved to be too much to over come for the Terriers.
Hiram continues PAC play as it travels to Steubenville, OH to take on the Franciscan Barons on Saturday. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m.
