HIRAM, Ohio – September 6, 2025 – The second week of the academic calendar has proven to be great for the Hiram men's soccer team, as they improved to 2-1 with a 3-0 shutout win over Olivet at Henry Field on Saturday afternoon.
Hiram scored three goals by three different players in the contest, with all three goals scored also coming off an assist. Their defensive effort was impressive, too, as it only surrendered four shots on target for the entire game.
The Terriers got off to a quick start, when Reginal Johnson slotted home a beautiful through-ball from Carmine Boscarello to give the Terriers the quick lead in the fourth minute. Then, in the 41st minute of the game, Jimmy Zeilmann connected on a header from the cross of Taeven Genovese to give Hiram the 2-0 lead heading into halftime.Â
Coming out of the break, Hiram continued to create offensive pressure on the Comets, which led to another goal in the 72nd minute, when Matthew Cederbloom scored his second goal of the season. Three goals were all the Terriers needed to secure another non-conference victory.Â
The defensive effort was very impressive, as goalkeeper Will McCale recorded a clean sheet and added four saves to his tally. The Terriers also gave up just nine total shots for the entirety of the 90 minutes.Â
The Hiram men's soccer team will be back in action on Thursday, when they travel to Alliance, Ohio to face Mount Union.Â
