HIRAM, Ohio – September 12, 2025 – Hiram made its move early and held strong through the final whistle on Friday night, as the Terriers scored in the second and 30
th minutes as part of a 2-0 victory over Carlow at Henry Field.
Bella Simmons and
Reagan Mory delivered the damage, lifting their team to its second win of the campaign, both of which have come at home. Mory also recorded an assist, while
Jada Neal and
Hailey Eastwood chipped in assists of their own to cap off the non-conference victory.
It started on a throw-in, when Eastwood lobbed the ball into the penalty box in the direction of Mory, who headed toward the right foot of Simmons. The senior from Amherst, OH then shot the ball to the corner of the net, securing her team a 1-0 advantage just seconds into the contest.
Hiram continued to apply pressure on the Celtics defense, notching 10 shots – eight of which were on target – in the first 45 minutes alone.
In the 30
th minute, Neal fired a cross off a corner kick to Mory, who headed the ball over the outstretched arms of the opposing goalkeeper to extend the margin to two goals. The score officially gave Mory her first goal of the season and the second game of her career with at least one goal and one assist (also in 2023 at Bluffton on Sept. 9).
The Terriers defense finished off the contest to keep the shutout intact, as a hard-fought match on both sides kept the score at 2-0 over the final 60 minutes.
Hiram returns to the field on Wednesday, when it hosts Pitt-Bradford at 5 p.m. at Henry Field.
