GAMBIER, Ohio – February 8, 2025 – Hiram College's women's basketball team delivered a dominant performance on the road, defeating Kenyon, 70-49, in NCAC action at Tomsich Arena. The Terriers controlled the game from start to finish, powered by strong rebounding, efficient scoring and defensive intensity.
Hiram opened the game with a commanding 21-12 lead in the first quarter, fueled by sharpshooting from
Brooke Hickman and
Anastasia Lawler. Hickman was a force on both ends, grabbing rebounds and finishing inside, while Lawler knocked down two 3-pointers to spark the offense. The Terriers maintained their momentum in the second quarter, outscoring the Owls, 15-12, to take a 36-24 lead into halftime.
The Terriers continued their dominance in the second half, showcasing balanced scoring and defensive discipline. Hickman secured a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds, with Lawler adding 11 points, including three shots from beyond the arc. Hiram's defense forced 21 turnovers and held Kenyon to just 33.3% shooting from the field.
Jo Janda and
Sarah Seaman provided valuable contributions off the bench, combining for 14 points. Seaman's hustle on the boards and timely scoring highlighted Hiram's depth.
Hiram will look to carry this momentum forward as it continues to push through the conference schedule in the next match up at home against Wooster on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
