HIRAM, Ohio - November 8, 2025 - Hiram swimming picked up a pair of conference wins as part of a tri-meet on Saturday, as both the men (165-7) and women (99-27) beat Bethany inside Alumni Memorial Pool.

The two teams also fell short to Oberlin, a former conference opponent, but still had plenty to celebrate in yet another exciting home meet.

Owen Pastorius stayed true to his winning ways, claiming the 800-meter freestyle (9:19.12) while also placing second in the 100-meter freestyle (57.07) and 400-meter freestyle (4:29.14). Jon Hybil also had a second-place finish in the 100-meter breaststroke (1:12.03) to earn his team some key points.

One of the biggest highlights of the meet came in the end, when the team of Pastorius, David Slovenkay, Ethan O'Malley and Hybil placed second in the 200-meter freestyle relay (1:44.26). That team placed just ahead of Oberlin (1:44.31).

Women's Recap

On the women's side, Mya Libertine continued to gain valuable experience by finding her way to third-place finishes in the 800-meter freestyle (12:56.79), 100-meter butterfly (1:34.54) and 200-meter IM (3:20.45).

Also contributing on the day were seniors Grace Basham and Rebecca Johnston, along with first-year Anna Hisrich.

Hiram will next travel to New Wilmington, PA to battle Westminster next Saturday at 1 p.m.
