BEREA, Ohio – November 25, 2025 – The Hiram men's basketball team traveled to Berea, OH on Tuesday evening for a non-conference matchup with the Baldwin Wallace Yellow Jackets. The Terriers fought hard but would eventually fall, 76-58, inside Ursprung Gymnasium.
The Terriers competed throughout the whole game, making Baldwin Wallace earn every point, but in the end, the Yellow Jacket offense made the right plays to earn the victory at their home gym. The Yellow Jackets outscored Hiram in the first half, 40-28, and held that advantage through the final whistle.
Hiram made significant improvements throughout the contest in terms of defending the perimeter, as Baldwin Wallace shot 50% from 3-point range in the first half (7-14) before going 0-9 from 3-point range in the second half.
It was a balanced attack for the Terriers, as 10 different players scored on Tuesday. Leading the Terriers in scoring was senior Brock Makrancy, who scored 10 points and added four rebounds as well. Not far behind him was sophomore Collin Jones, who also dropped 9 points and added two steals.
Defensively, the Terriers were led by Jones and Avery Scott, who added a steal and a block to this young season.
Hiram men's basketball will be back in action on Wednesday, December 3, when they begin PAC play and travel to Thiel College to face the Tomcats for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff.
