Hiram Wraps Up 2025 Campaign With Promising Effort Against Playoff Bound Cougars

Terriers Nearly Upset Chatham On Wednesday Evening

HIRAM, Ohio - October 29, 2025 - Hiram women's soccer played some of its best soccer to end the 2025 season on Wednesday evening at Henry Field, holding one of the best teams in the PAC in check before falling, 1-0, to Chatham.

The Cougars broke through in the 87th minute, scoring on Elizabeth Gallup's eighth goal of the campaign off of a Sarah Vescio assist. It was a strategic play from Chatham, as Vescio found an open seam just outside the box to set Gallup up; Gallup then sunk the go-ahead shot through the top-left portion of the net to seal the road win.

It was a tough end to a promising effort from the Terriers, who fought through rainy conditions and limited Chatham to just 10 shots on goal throughout the contest, four of which came in the second half. Madie Kennedy and Summer Satterfield split the goalkeeping duties, with the duo tallying six and three saves respectively.

Offensively, Hiram had its chances, with Reagan Mory consistently working the left side of the field and finding her way to a pair of shots on goal. Olivia Kraft also found the target twice, but came up just short despite finding openings in the box.

It marks a sudden end to a memorable season for the Terriers, who won their most games in a single season since 2015. The program would like to thank all fans for their support throughout the year, as well as seniors Bella Simmons and Olivia Kraft for their dedication to the team.

Hiram will now look forward to 2026, with a talented roster set to return to the field under head coach Mike Shiels in the Presidents' Athletic Conference.
