MEADVILLE, Pennsylvania - September 17, 2024 - Hiram lost to Allegheny, 5-0, on Tuesday evening at the Robertson Blue Turf field.
It was a tough matchup for the Terriers, as they took on a Gators team that had also scored five goals in its previous match against Fredonia this past Saturday.
Bella Simmons led her team with four shots and two shots on goal, while Hailey Eastwood also recorded a shot on goal as a member of the starting lineup. Emma Deffenbaugh recorded 15 saves in the match, which was a new career-high.
Hiram had its opportunities in the first half, with all three of its shots on target coming in the first 45 minutes. The team also earned four corner kicks, as it kept the ball around the net throughout.
Allegheny made its move in the second half, with four different student-athletes teaming together for the final four goals in the contest.
The Terriers will look to return to form on Saturday, when they travel to Greenville, PA for a non-conference matchup with Thiel at 12 p.m.
