CREVE COEUR, Missouri – April 28, 2024 – Hiram STUNT came one win away from a national championship on Sunday afternoon, as the team beat No. 4 George Fox University (15-7) to advance to the championship game against No. 1 Alma College, which they lost (24-0) despite a valiant effort throughout a busy week of postseason.
It's the first time Hiram has won twice on the sport's biggest stage; the team beat No. 3 Muskingum on Saturday and took care of business against the fourth-ranked team in Division III on Sunday. Both of the Terriers' losses came against Alma, which repeated as national champions and finished the year with a 16-3 record. The Scots beat Division I Kentucky and nearly beat Oklahoma State earlier in the season.
The Terriers finish the campaign with their most wins in program history (11), their longest win streak in program history (seven) and their fourth ever qualification to the national tournament. The team is in just its sixth season, the third of which has come under head coach Brittany Powell.
Spearheading the team throughout the campaign was Nina Casalandra, Jay Maniga and Brianna James, who ranked among the best on the team in power rating.
Hiram will now await its potential All-American selections before setting its sights on climbing the STUNT ranks yet again in 2025.
