Hiram Extends Win Streak To 4 With Dominant Win At Home

Terriers Take Down Lions In Convincing Fashion

HIRAM, Ohio - March 27, 2024 - Hiram improved to 5-1 in conference play and climbed back up to second-place in the AMCC standings after a straight-set home win against Penn State Altoona on Wednesday evening inside Price Gymnasium. It's a key victory for the Terriers, who would host at least one AMCC Tournament match if they finish in the top-two in the regular-season standings.

The game was close in the first two sets, with the score standing at 25-22 in the first set and 25-22 in the second.

The last set is where the momentum started to shift even further in favor of Hiram, as the Terriers jumped out to a 14-3 lead and never looked back from there. The double-digit lead carried them to the end, as Hiram won the final set, 25-13, with a complete performance that showcased the depth of head coach Glen Conley's roster.

Jackson Deubner was one of the top performers, with Matthew Albano, Garrett Scheidegger, Kyle Martini and Colin Brooks not far behind. The quintet contributed in all the major categories, leading the team in kills (12, Deubner), assists (29, Albano), total blocks (six, Scheidegger), digs (11, Martini) and service aces (four, Brooks).

Hiram was clicking on all cylinders with its offense, as it had a hitting percentage of .207 throughout the match. The Terriers defense stood out in the game as well, as their opponent had a hitting percentage of .056.

Hiram's record now stands at 15-11 overall this season with those five conference wins; the team will have three more games this season before a potential conference tournament run in April.

The Terriers will be on the road for their next game as they travel to Erie, PA to play Penn State Behrend this Saturday at 1 p.m.
