ERIE, Pennsylvania - February 11, 2024 - Hiram STUNT continued its early-season surge with a win over Mercyhurst (13-10) on Saturday afternoon at the Mercyhurst Athletic Center.
The team also lost to Trevecca Nazarene (16-12), but has extended its streak of eight straight dates in the regular season with at least one victory, which dates back to April 2022.
In the first half against Trevecca Nazarene, Hiram scored in partner stunts 3, as well as pyramids 1 and 3. The team would then score in jump and tumble routines 2 and 4 before totaling another 7 points in the team routines to finish with 12 points.
The Terriers were able to get back to .500 in the second game of the day, outscoring Mercyhurst, 4-1, between the partner stunts and pyramids. That strong start was followed by 4 straight points in the jump & tumbles and 5 points in the team routines to seal the tightly contested game.
Hiram now stands with a 2-2 record on the season with plenty of momentum heading into a Sunday game against Walsh. That matchup will begin at 3 p.m. inside Alumni Arena in North Canton, Ohio.
