WOOSTER, Ohio - October 22, 2024 - The Hiram women's soccer team kept it close despite a quick turnaround on Tuesday afternoon, as the Terriers lost to Wooster, 2-0, just three days after the team picked up a conference win over Kenyon.
The Terriers' Emma Deffenbaugh picked up eight saves and the Hiram defense held the opposition scoreless for the last 25 minutes of the first half and last 30 minutes of the second half. Deffenbaugh now has 98 saves in her first collegiate season at the goalkeeper position.
Wooster's production came courtesy of Alyssa Lubba's goal in the 19th minute and Annie Henegar's goal in the 59th minute. Henegar now has eight goals this season, trailing only Oberlin's Heather Benway (nine) for the most in the NCAC.
Kali Baker had a shot attempt for the Terriers, while Briana Troyan continued to be a force on the defensive end with a full 90 minutes of playing time.
Hiram will take another road trip on Saturday, when it travels to Granville, OH for a NCAC clash with Denison at 1 p.m. from Kienzle-Hylbert Stadium.
