Hudson Shines In Loss To Allegheny

Hiram Senior Scores Twice At Home

HIRAM, Ohio - September 27, 2023 - The Hiram women's soccer team lost to Allegheny on Wednesday night at Henry Field, 6-2.

It was a breakout day for Kylie Hudson, who finished with her first 2 goals of the 2023 season. The senior now has 4 goals for her collegiate career. The offensive performance gave her team its most goals in a game since Sept. 9 against Bluffton (3 goals).

The Terriers played their opposition as hard as they possibly could in the first 45 minutes, a span that ended in a 1-1 tie and nearly the same number of shot attempts for each team (Allegheny 7, Hiram 6).

Avarie Schott was first to break the scoring barrier in the 18th minute, scoring on an assist from Julieta Schworm. Hiram would stick with its opposition, though, as it fired 5 more shots before a sixth shot from Hudson leveled the tally at 1-1, which held firm until the intermission.

Allegheny played a strong second half by regaining the lead and extending the margin between the two teams. Hudson scored in the 87th minute on assists from Samantha Humphrey and Kali Baker to end the non-conference affair on a high note.

Hiram will look to bounce back when it travels to Notre Dame, Indiana to take on Saint Mary's College on Saturday at 2 p.m.
