HIRAM, Ohio - April 8, 2023 - The Terriers bested Medaille, as the Hiram men's volleyball team won in straight sets on Saturday at Price Gymnasium.
The Terriers were led by
Matthew Albano, who helped his team get the win with 28 assists throughout the day. Hiram also had a huge effort from
Kyle Martini, who had 12 kills, which helped secure the victory.
Hiram came out strong in the first two sets and really put on a show at home as they won 25-15 and 25-18. The team played with an emphasis of starting strong while also being efficient with each play; the chemistry between them really shined in the game.The Terriers managed to keep Medaille under 20 points in each of the first two sets and ended the match finishing the third set in a 25-21 score.Â
This was the last home game for the men's volleyball team in 2023, as they ended the regular season in a celebratory fashion.
The Terriers start postseason play in the coming week and they go into the conference tournament led by Martini, who has a team-high 263 kills this season.
The first conference tournament game is against Thiel on Tuesday in a game where they will have to battle to pull out the win. Hiram lost earlier this season to Thiel on February 25.Â
