HIRAM, Ohio - February 4, 2023 - The Terriers men's basketball team celebrated the careers of Brodgie Gordon, Kevin Beans Jr. and Levi MacAdam as part of Senior Day on Saturday inside Price Gymnasium.
Hiram would lose the game to Oberlin, 93-71, but Gordon and Beans combined for 24 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists to highlight a special afternoon that honored their 9 combined seasons with the program. MacAdam, who has missed most of the season due to injury, was also supporting his team from the sidelines after a successful collegiate career of his own.
Gordon spearheaded the Terriers by scoring or assisting on 28 of his team's 71 points. His final two assists of the game were both on three-pointers by Beans. Sophomore Trent Jakacki was also efficient, scoring 10 points on 4-6 shooting from the field and 2-3 from beyond the perimeter.
Dorde Otasevic led the Yeomen with 26 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists. Andrew Gannon and Dimitrije Radusinovic chipped in 16 points apiece to help Oberlin to a second win in its last three games.
For the seniors, Saturday afternoon wrote one of the final chapters to their storybook careers. Each player has made their mark with the Terriers men's basketball program since arriving in Hiram, Ohio.
Brodgie Gordon has spent 5 seasons with the Terriers program, logging over 1,300 points since debuting in 2018-19. The DeLand, Florida native also ranks 4th in Hiram history with 365 assists, trailing only Steve Fleming (510), AJ White (372) and Tom Pollock (369). Gordon was an Honorable Mention All-NCAC selection and became the 29th player in program history to score 1,000 points in 2021-22. He was named NCAC Athlete of the Week this past December.
Kevin Beans Jr. is closing in on 700 career points (692 through Saturday) after beginning his career with Hiram in the 2019-20 season. The senior out of Daytona Beach, Florida has averaged a double-digit point total in each of the last 3 seasons and tallied over 500 total points since the start of last season. Beans is 6 three-pointers shy of 100 and 39 rebounds shy of 300 for his career. He has started for the Terriers in each of his 4 seasons, including 44 starts since last season.
Levi MacAdam transferred to Hiram after playing 2 seasons at Malone University. The 6-6 forward from Meadville, Pennsylvania scored 36 points on Nov. 9 against Geneva this season. His 8 three-pointers in the game tied Brodgie Gordon (2022) and Rod Swartz (1987) for the 2nd-most in a game in program history, trailing Matt Kersten's 9 three-pointers against Ohio Wesleyan in 2003. MacAdam began his career at Philip Barbour High School in Philippi, West Virginia.
