BEAVER FALLS, Pennsylvania – December 11, 2023 - Hiram came out hungry for a win on Monday against Geneva College, as it played fiercely in the game's opening half. The tightly consteted affair ended in a hard-fought loss, with the Terriers falling to the Golden Tornados, 78-71, inside Metheny Fieldhouse.

Things started out hot for the Terriers, as they led going into the half, 39-36, while shooting 45% (18-40) from the field during that span. Hiram also made a pair of three-pointers in the second quarter to maintain its lead.

Geneva managed to make a comeback in the second half, as they shot 48.6% (18-37) from the field over the final two quarters and finished the game with the advantage in points off turnovers (27-19) and points in the paint (42-32).

As the game came down to the final 1:35 in the fourth quarter, Anastasia Lawler was able to hit a three-pointer to cut the deficit to 75-69. Geneva's Emily Bucheit responded with a three-pointer to keep it a multi-possession game in the closing seconds.

Lawler led the Terriers with career-highs in points (19) and steals (4). Brooke Hickman led all Hiram starters with 14 points, while her frontcourt teammate, Ava Mory, chipped in 12 points of her own. Both Hickman and Mory had double-doubles in the game (12 and 11 rebounds respectively).
