ADRIAN, Michigan - November 11, 2023 - The Hiram women's wrestling program dominated the first day of its busy weekend at Adrian College, winning all three of its duals inside the Merillat Sport and Fitness Center on Saturday afternoon: 29-20 against Frostburg State, 25-24 against New Jersey City and 30-5 against Davenport.

The event marked the first set of duals for the Terriers this season; in 2022-23, the team went 1-3 in its four duals at the same event.

In the matchup with Frostburg State, freshman Caitlin Lewis (116 lbs) got things going with a win by technical fall over Aurora Walters, 12-0. Sophomore Mallory Chunat followed it up with a win over LaJess Jordan to give Hiram its first dual victory of the campaign.

Junior Kylee Bentley lifted the Terriers to an early lead in their next dual against New Jersey City, taking down Dyanne Pelaez by fall (0:23). Sophomore Mallory Chunat would then beat Mackenzie Finn by fall (0:59) and sophomore Erika Novak won by fall (0:32) against Emely Rodriguez to secure the team with a 1-point victory.

Lewis and Novak returned to their winning ways in the dual against Davenport, with Lewis winning by fall (0:54) over Elizabeth Palmer and Novak winning by fall (2:12) over Alexis Adams. The victories continued to pile up for Hiram, which should provide it with plenty of optimism heading into the tournament portion of the weekend in Michigan.

Hiram will have a quick turnaround, as the team will take part in the Adrian Women's Invitational on Sunday beginning at 10 a.m.
