Box Score Hiram, OH -- Sept. 14, 2022 -- The Women's Volleyball team continued its winning ways on Wednesday evening, defeating Heidelberg in four sets, 18-25, 25-14, 25-17 and 25-21, in front of an electric crowd in Hiram's Price Gym..
The Terriers started slowly, once again, dropping the opening set, 18-25. Heidelberg sprinted out to leads of 10-5, 15-10 and 20-13, before winning five of the last eight points to take the set.
Starting with the second set, Hiram completely flipped the match, storming back with renewed enthusiasm to capture set #2, 25-14. The Terriers raced to an 8-2 lead, forcing a Heidelberg timeout. Hiram increased the lead to 17-9, forcing another timeout for the Student Princes. The score was19-9 before Heidelberg scored another point. Hiram tallied six of the last nine points in the set for the convincing win. The Terriers' defense was especially strong all night, digging up everything that Heidelberg could send their way.
The third set was similar to the second, with Hiram taking big leads of 14-7 and 19-9, Heidelberg came within six points at 20-14 before the Terriers earned seven of the last 10 points, including the last five points of the set.
The fourth set was the closest one of the match. The score was tied three times and the lead changed hands three times. Hiram jumped out to an early 7-2 lead. After a tie at 18, Heidelberg took its last lead of the night at 19-18. The Terriers then closed the set and the match in convincing fashion, winning seven of the last nine points.

Brooke Norris led the Hiram offensive attack with match-high 14 and 13 kill shots, respectively. Freshman setter

Mackenzie Brannon had a big night with eight kills, four service aces, a match-high 17 digs and handled all 32 of her receptions without an error.
The Terriers have won three matches in a row and have earned a record of 6-3. The next action will be this Friday and Saturday, Sept. 16 & 17, at the Allegheny College Tournament in Meadville, PA, where they are scheduled to play Fredonia at 5pm on Friday, followed by host Allegheny at 7pm. The team will then compete against Mount Aloysius on Saturday at 11 a.m.
