NEW CONCORD, Ohio - March 26, 2022 – Hiram STUNT won its third and fourth-straight, picking up a pair of wins over Olivet, 10-6, and Muskingum, 8-6, on Saturday at the Anne C. Steele Center. With the two wins, Hiram moves to 4-1 on the year.
GAME 1: HIRAM 10, OLIVET 6
Through the Comets jumped out to an early lead, winning the first round of Partner Stunts, Hiram answered, to pull within a point in the second round, and trailed just 2-1 after the first quarter.
The Terriers then dominated the second quarter, Pyramids and Tosses, winning three out of the four points to take a 4-2 lead at the halftime break.
Hiram added two more points in the third quarter, Jumps and Tumbling, winning routines one and two, to take a 6-2 lead into the final frame.
Up 6-2, the Terriers then took two out of the three points in the opening round of the fourth quarter, Team Routine, to extend their lead to 8-4. Hiram then earned another two points in the next round before finishing off the 10-6 victory over the Comets.
GAME 2: HIRAM 8, MUSKINGUM 6
After falling behind and rallying in game one, the Terriers jumped out to the early lead in their second game against the Fighting Muskies. Hiram won each of the first two rounds of the opening quarter, winning the points in both Partner Stunts 1 and 2.
The Terriers then added another two points in the second quarter, extending their lead to 4-0 with wins in Pyramids and Tosses 1 and 2 to take a 4-2 after two-quarters of play.
Hiram opened the third quarter with another point in Jumps and Tumbling before Muskingum got on the board, cutting into Hiram's lead by matching the Terriers in the second round of the third quarter and winning the final two rounds to make it 6-3, headed to the fourth.
Muskingum then pulled within one, winning points in the first two Team Routines, but Hiram solidified its lead and victory, earning two points in the final round of Team Routines, while the Fighting Muskies just earned one, to finish off the 8-6 victory.
The Terriers will look to keep rolling when they visit the Ashland, Ohio on Wednesday, April 6 for a mid-week matchup against the Ashland College Eagles at 6 p.m.
