ALMA, Mich. - February 13, 2022 – Hiram STUNT fell in their 2022 season opener at the D3 defending national champion Alma College Scots, 21-2 on Sunday inside Art Smith Arena.
The Scots opened the match with possession and took the early lead, taking all four points in the partner stunts in the first quarter.
Hiram though, bounced back to pick up a point in the opening round of the second quarter, equaling Alma's Pyramid 1 to earn a tie and one point. The Scots though, proceeded to earn all three points the rest of the second quarter to take an 8-1 lead at the half.
Alma kept things rolling in the third quarter, jumps and tumbling, adding another four points to their tally to take a 12-1 lead into the fourth before the Terriers once again got on the scoreboard.
In the opening round of the fourth quarter, Alma earned all three points, and then the Scots added another three in the second round of the fourth to go up 18-1.
Hiram earned another point in the final round of the fourth quarter, again tying the Scots on Pyramid 1, but the Scots bested the Terriers to earn the other two points and finish off the 21-2 victory.
The Terriers will look to bounce back and pick up their first win of the season when they return home to Price Gymnasium on Sunday, Feb. 27 for a pair of games against Concordia Chicago and Olivet beginning at 11:00 a.m.
