WILLIAMSBURG, Kentucky – December 2, 2022 – Hiram posted a strong effort on day one of the Patriot Duals, with the team picking up individual wins throughout their four duals against William Penn University, Brewton-Parker College, University of the Cumberlands and Limestone University.

The Terriers lost 38-5 to William Penn in their opening dual of the weekend. Kenedi Keesey (123 lbs), Bethany Smith (130 lbs), Erika Novak (136 lbs), Allydia Byard (143 lbs) and Addison Disman (170 lbs) competed hard before falling short in their respective weight classes.

The team would bounce back in its second dual with a pair of solid performances against Brewton-Parker College. Kylee Bentley won by fall (0:51) over Elora Waterman at 109 lbs, while Byard earned the team 1.0 point despite losing by decision (6-6) to Sierra Hartfelder at 143 lbs. Hiram narrowly lost that dual, 17.0-16.0.

Byard would continue her momentum against the University of the Cumberlands, beating Camarie Cunningham by technical fall (14-4). Hiram would lose that dual, 36-5.

The final dual saw the Terriers lose to Limestone, 28-10. Keesey (fall, 1:39), Smith (technical fall, 11-0), Novak (fall, 0:27) and Byard (technical fall, 10-0) all battled in their hard-fought losses to the Saints.
