Box Score Pittsburgh, PA - October 28, 2022 -- The Women's Volleyball team suffered one of its most lopsided losses tonight at Carnegie Mellon, losing in straight sets and only managing 16 total kill shots in the match while hitting -.019.
The Terriers actually had more total attacks with 105 opportunities to 96 for their hosts. But the Tartans hit a .240 percentage, including a strong .542 in the opening set. The Tartans also compiled 14 service aces.
It was clearly an off-night offensively for Hiram which was led by sophomore middle
Cate Maguire, sophomore middle
Emily Richardson and freshman outside hitter Brooke Norris with four kill shots apiece. Norris was also credited with a team-high 11 digs. The assist leaders were freshman setter Brooke Fishback and sophomore setter
Mary Landis with seven and five, respectively. Sophomore outside hitter
Andrya Hanmore collected three block assists. Maguire accounted for a team-high six points with Norris right behind at 5.5 points.
The Terriers will take their 12-12 record back home on Saturday to play Washington & Jefferson at 2PM on Senior Day. That match will conclude the regular season. The Terriers will then open the NCAC Tournament next weekend as the #5 seed.
