Hiram Swimming & Diving Falls in Regular Season Finale at Oberlin

OBERLIN, Ohio - January 28, 2022 Hiram men's and women's swimming wrapped up the 2021-22 regular season with a dual meet at Oberlin on Friday evening at Carr Pool. The women fell to the Yeowomen by the final score of 208-30, while the men dropped the dual to the Yeomen, 181-47.
 
Hiram kicked off the dual meet with a victory in the 200-yard medley relay, with Moraine Jackson, Lilly MacDonald, Elena Rinaldi and Carlee Lisser combining for a 1:37.51 relay time. On the men's side, Landon Hughes, Devin Gear, Gabe Farthing and Dayne Sauter combined for a 1:49.64 time, good for second place.

Robinson then set a lifetime best in the 200-yard freestyle, with her time of 2:43.87. 
 
A few events later, Farthing and Lisser earned fourth-place times in the 50-yard backstroke, clocking in at 30.11 and 32.14, respectively. Lisser's time was good her lifetime best, as well as ninth-best in program history.
 
In the 50-yard breaststroke, Hughes took home a third-place finish with his time of 30.97, while Adam Ellis added another third-place finish to Hiram's tally in the 200-yard butterfly, swimming a 2:31.74.

And the women's side, Natalie Brown and Elena Rinaldi both set program records in the 50-yard breaststroke, with their times of 38.98 and 39.31 respectively.
 
Sauter then picked up Hiram's first individual win of the day, taking home first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.86. Sauter then added another first-place finish to his tallying in the 100-yard freestyle, clocking in at 50.37.

And in the women's 50-yard freestyle, Lilly MacDonald set a new Top 15 time, clocking in at 27.71.
 
In the 200-yard breaststroke, Jacob Carleton earned himself a third-place finish with his time of 2:50.18.
 
Next up in the 50-yard butterfly, Vincent AhSam-Kreiter, Farthing and Ellis finished back-to-back-to-back, coming in fourth, fifth and sixth place, respectively, with times of 26.73, 27.46 and 27.75, with AhSam Kreiter's time coming in on Hiram's Top 15 times.
 
Hiram then wrapped up the day with the 100-yard individual medley and the 200-yard freestyle relay.
 
Lisser led the Terriers in the 100-yard IM, swimming a time of 1:09.35, good for sixth, while Hughes came in sixth for the men as well, with a time of 59.05.
 
And in the 200-yard freestyle relay, the women's relay team of Natalie Brown, Adrianna Klepper, Madelyn Sagle and Robinson earned a third-place finish with a time of 2:04.85, while the men's squad of AhSam-Kreiter, Gear, Ellis and Carleton came in second with a time of 1:39.92.

In total, the Terriers set six new Top 15 times, six new lifetime best and a number of seasons bests as well.
 
Hiram men's and swimming wrap up the regular season and will next compete at the 2021-22 North Coast Athletic Conference Swim & Dive Championships, hosted by Denison University at the Trumbull Aquatics Center, beginning on Wednesday, Feb. 9 at 6:30 p.m. and running through Saturday, Feb. 12.
