UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio - September 8, 2021 – Hiram women's soccer fell to the John Carroll University Blue Streaks, 4-0, on Wednesday in a road non-conference tilt at Don Shula Stadium at Wasmer Field.
The Blue Streaks got off to a quick start, taking advantage of a Hiram foul to go up 1-0 on a penalty kick just under four minutes into the match.
John Carroll would add two more goals to their tally into the first half, extending their lead to 3-0, before adding another in the second half, the second by Brittany Dufalla, to finish off the 4-0 victory.
With the loss, Hiram falls to 2-2, while the Blue Streaks move to 3-1.
Anika Zepeda got the start in goal for Hiram and made four saves. Offensively,
Emily Kazimore,
Briana Troyan and
Jaycee Ward each led the Terriers with three shots.
The Terriers will look to bounce back when they host Albion in another non-conference matchup on Saturday, Sept. 11 at 4 p.m. at Charles A. Henry Field.
